Technology is used during all phases of the appraisal process.  Pre-appraisal research is done using the Internet, locating and comparing similar vehicles.  Once the comparisons are located the information is stored digitally for use on location at the time of the appraisal inspection.   During the inspection all photographs will be transferred to a tablet to ensure clarity and details (not the small screen on the camera).  The appraiser will use a template that is specifically designed for your make and model vehicle, giving the appraiser the ability to create accurate notes on the location of any defects to the vehicle.  The appraiser will use a non-destructive coating thickness meter to determine the distance between the outer surface of the paint and the metal below.  This measurement will include any body filler.  When the appraisal report is ready it will be electronically sent to your insurance company.  For your records, you will receive in the mail a DVD with all the research, pictures, and documentation of the appraisal.
